Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about buying and selling Monero anonymously on Retro Swap — no KYC, no AML screening, no registration required.
Getting Started
No account, no email, no password. To buy Monero on Retro Swap you select your send currency, enter your XMR wallet address and submit the form. That is the entire process. Nothing about you is stored beyond the session needed to execute the swap.
No KYC at all. We collect no identity documents, no selfie, no government ID, no proof of address and no personal details of any kind. The entire platform is built to operate without knowing who you are — that is the point.
No AML screening of any kind. Your deposit address and Monero destination are never sent through Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM Labs or any equivalent tool. We do not assign risk scores to wallets, and we do not delay or reject swaps based on perceived fund origin. Your swap is processed on technical parameters only.
Over 50 coins are supported. You can send Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, USDC, BNB, Solana, XRP, TRON, Dogecoin, Cardano, Litecoin, Toncoin, Dash, Zcash, DAI, PEPE, Arbitrum, Polygon, Bitcoin Cash, Sui and many more. The full list with current minimums is on the exchange page.
The minimum swap value is $100 USD equivalent and the maximum is $282,100 USD equivalent per order. The exact amount in your chosen cryptocurrency is shown in the widget before you confirm anything. Do not send below the minimum — underfunded orders may not process automatically.
How Swaps Work
Most Monero swaps complete within 5 to 20 minutes from the moment your deposit confirms on the source blockchain. Bitcoin typically requires 1 to 3 confirmations. Ethereum, USDT, Solana and other fast chains usually confirm in a few minutes. Once confirmed, XMR is dispatched to your wallet immediately.
1. Pick your send coin and enter your XMR wallet address in the form above. 2. A unique deposit address is generated for your order. 3. Send the exact amount to that address from any wallet or exchange. 4. The engine detects your on-chain deposit, locks the rate, executes the swap and sends Monero to your wallet automatically. No logins, no callbacks, no approvals required at any step.
When you create an order, the exchange rate is fixed for 30 minutes. Your deposit needs to reach the required confirmation count within that window. If the timer expires before your transaction confirms, the deposit address often remains valid but a new rate may apply. Contact support with your Order ID if you have any concerns.
The rate is locked at order creation for 30 minutes, so the XMR amount shown is what you receive minus the outgoing Monero network fee. There are no hidden spreads or surprise deductions. The service fee is already included in the displayed exchange rate.
Sending below the minimum may prevent automatic processing — contact support immediately with your Order ID and transaction hash. Sending the wrong currency to a deposit address is a serious issue that cannot always be recovered automatically. Always verify the currency and amount before sending.
Privacy & Anonymity
Bitcoin and Ethereum transactions are permanently public. Every address, amount and counterparty is visible on-chain forever, and analytics companies actively map this data. Monero uses ring signatures, stealth addresses and RingCT to make transactions unlinkable and untraceable at the protocol level. No block explorer can reveal the sender, receiver or amount of an XMR transaction. That is genuine financial privacy, not a promise.
We collect only what is technically needed to process your swap: deposit address, your XMR destination, currency pair, amount and order timestamp. Order data lives in a PHP session and is not retained after it ends. Standard server access logs may capture IP addresses for operational purposes but are not linked to order records or any identity.
Yes. Enter any self-custody Monero wallet address as the destination. The XMR arrives directly to the address you control. Good wallet options include Feather Wallet, the official Monero GUI, Monerujo on Android and Cake Wallet on iOS. We never hold Monero on your behalf.
No. The exchange is non-custodial. Your deposit passes through the swap engine and is converted directly to XMR, which is then sent to the address you provided. We do not maintain user balances or hold funds in accounts associated with your identity.
Support
First, verify your deposit is confirmed on-chain using a block explorer for the coin you sent. If it is confirmed and more than 30 minutes have passed without receiving XMR, email support@retroswap.exchange with your Order ID and the deposit transaction hash (TXID). We will investigate and respond promptly.
The Letter of Guarantee is a downloadable text file created for each order. It records your Order ID, the currency pair, amounts, deposit address and destination XMR wallet. It serves as verifiable proof that a swap was initiated through Retro Swap, useful if you ever need to reference the transaction.
Email support@retroswap.exchange with your Order ID and full details about the issue. We respond within 24 hours. For urgent stuck transactions, put URGENT in the subject line. More details are on the contacts page.
